Collins, Suzanne. Catching Fire. New York: Scholastic Press, 2009. Print.

This week, the main character has just announced that she is engaged to be married to her fellow tribute, Peeta. Katniss has done this to try to completely convince the Capital that their love for each other is real following their joint victory in the Hunger Games. She is not really in love with Peeta but she does love him and would do anything she could to keep them both safe from retribution.

The novel is written in first person point of view. I can tell because the narrator is Katniss and she refers to herself using the pronoun “I, me, my”. “I dare to raise my eyebrows. They ask what my lips can’t. Did I do it? Was it enough?” (Collins 74).

In my book Catching Fire, the main character Katniss is stuck in a force field where if somebody touches it it jolts them back and causes their heart to stop beating. Next Katniss and other tributes (contestants)that she befriended are running away from a poisoness fog that if trapped in causes burning of the skin, muscle spasms and death.

I think this book is in a first person point of view because she uses a lot of clues like "I, me and my" lastly the story revolves around her.

Dear Mrs. Evans
I don’t quite get how you stated Katniss doesn’t love really love Peeta, but dose love him. How could she love him, and not really love him at the same time. I don’t understand that.

Thomson, Sarah L. Dragon’s Egg. New York: Scholastic. 2007. Print.
In the section of “Dragon’s Egg” I read so far dragons are farm animal’s not big monsters to almost everyone. Then Mella, the dragon keeper of her family, finds a dragon egg that belongs to a monstrous dragon. When she goes to return it she finds that Damien, a Knight of the Order of Defenders, has killed the dragon. Before the dragon dies Mella promises to bring its egg to the Hatching Ground.
My book is written in the third person. I know this by how the book describes all the characters individual feelings. An example of this is “Mella knew she must keep her discovery safe.” (Thomson 26). If this book were written in the first person then the sentence would be “I knew I must keep my discovery safe.”

Collins , Suzanne. MockingJay. New York: scholastic press , 2010. print.

I am currently reading the book "Mocking Jay" by Suzanne Collins. I read a lot of the book so far , but what is currently happening at the moment is Finnick is telling his story in an interview to the rebels. Finnick finally begins to tell his life and the things he had to go through in district four. For example how president snow used to sell his body to strange women "President Snow used to...sell me...my body that is" (page 178, Collins). Hearing the stories of Katniss and mostly Finnick was extreamly sad.

The point of view of "Mockingjay" is in first person. It is from a girl named Katniss Everdeens point of view. I know that the story is from her point of view because they use words such as "me" and "I".

Comment:

To Mrs.Evans, i agree with helen on what you said about Katniss "not loving peeta" , Because Katniss would do anything to save Peeta and states that many times in the book "Catching Fire". As well with Peeta he would do anything to protect Katniss. So I believe if there was a word stronger then love that would be what Peeta and Katniss share but times ten. <3

Collins, Suzanne. Catching Fire. New York: Scholastic Press, 2009. Print.

This week i read about Katniss's struggle with being put back in the games with peeta. This year of the Hunger Games is the quarter Qeull. The Quell says that two victors from each district must go into the games. So far Katniss Has been training and preparing for the games.
The Point of view in this book is in first person. It tells the story the eyes of Katniss Everdeen. I can tell because in the story it uses words like I, me, or my. "I glance around the training center" (Collins 226)

Cast, P. C., Kristin Cast. Marked. New York: St. Martin's Press, 2007. Print.

Zoey Redbird had an absolutely normal life, two siblings, a "step-loser" or a step-father, and an inconsistent mother. All the qualities of a normal crappy life, untill the day she is Marked to either become a vampyre or die from the Change. If only it could be that simple. Her ex-boyfriend Heath decides he doesn't want their relationship to end so he has her drink his blood and Imprint, or be bonded for life. That's only the half of it. Something is causing all kinds of hell like evil dead ghosts of vampyres and a faceless evil that could be looking for her doom. " I'm going to remember that nothing could be as bad as being stuck her. Nothing."(Cast 26)

The point of view is first person because Zoey uses the articles "I, me, we, etc." Also we aren't told the thoughts of other characters in the story.

I wonder if in the storyif the mother dragon was still alive would she harm Mella and why did Damien kill the mother?

Collins, Suzanne. Catching Fire. New York: Scholastic Press, 2009.Print.

This week in the book Katniss and Peeta team up with Finnick and Mags. When they are attacked by a poisonous fog there muscles are unable work correctly. When Katniss is unable to carry Mags any further Mags ends her life by walking into the fog. The three find camp at a beach they are soon attacked my monkeys who are more like mutts they are soon saved by the other tributes.
This story is written in first person point of view. I can tell because Katniss is telling it and we can hear her thoughts and feelings unlike the other charters. The book also says I, me, and my, throughout. “I can almost see the hands ticking around the twelve-sectioned face of the arena.” (Collins 326)

King, Stephen. Pet Semetary. Doubleday, 1983. Print.

In the section I read this week, Louis Creed sends his daughter and wife to visit the wife's parents. His wife, Rachel and his daughter, Ellie are supicious of that. Meanwhile, Louis makes plans to exume his dead son, Gage, and resurect him at the Pet Semetary. Rachel is suspicious and rushes home.

The book is written in third person point of view. I can tell because Stephen King did not use I, me or my. "Louis saw the grinning circlet of stitches which held Gage's head onto his shoulders."

Collins, Suzanne. Catching Fire. New York: Scholastic Press, 2009. Print.

This week I just started Catching Fire. Katniss has just gotten back from the capital and is shocked to see that Peeta was only pretending to like her. Now she is ready to see her good friend Gale. Although Gale is now working in the mines. Sad that she wont be seeing him she must soon get ready for the hunger games victory tour. Little does she know that president Snow is here to see her. "If he's made the journey all the way from his city, it can only mean one thing. I'm in serious trouble."This is in first person, because Katniss is the one telling the story. Katniss is telling her thoughts in this quote.

Is the Quell part three on the book. If so is that the best part in the book. I don't understand why Katniss must go back into games and fight. In the end of the first book she says she will never have to go back as a tribute.

Riordan, Riordan. The Last Olympian. Disney, 2009. Nook

In this section so far I read that, The main character Percy Jackson is trying to stop the king of the titans Kronos and his army of evil halfbloods (children of a mortal and a Olympic God or Goddess), monsters, and any one or thing that wishes to join. Kronos is trying to over come the Olymipc Gods and Goddesses after they banished him to the pit of Tartaus. Percy has to go on a very dangerous quest to kill Kronos.

This book is told in first person point of view. I know this because the author used words like me, my or I. One example is, "I looked back at Rachel..." (Riordan8)

Gerber, Linda. Death by Denim.New York: Penguin Group ,2009. Print.

What I read this weeek was that Aphra and her mom had to leave France because "the mole" found them. They took a train to Paris and then the "mole's" helper the guy that smokes cheap cigarretts found them. Now Aphra has to go find Seth so they can try and get rid of the "mole". Thats what I read this week.

This book is first person point of veiw because the narrator "Aphra" is telling the story. " We hiked to Metro and rode the night trains all over the city until dawn." (Gerber #24)

When a person gets Marked they are no longer human and can never turn back, they become "fledglings". If your body rejects the Change then you die by having blood fill up your lungs and spill out your mouth, eyes, nose, and ears. Gross, isn't it?

Patterson, James. Witch And Wizard. Hachette Book Group, 2009. print.

In my book Witch And Wizard. The main characters Whit and Wisty are accused of being witch and wizard's. because under the new government it is illegal to be involved in witchcraft and so they are tried and found guilty. Then sentenced to being hung at the age of 18 witch Whit will be in one month.

I think this book is written in first person point of view. Because one of the main characters Wisty says. "oh god, Whit, I thought, shaking my head sleepily." (Patterson 15).

Do you think that if Gale never met Katniss that she would fall for Peeta and get married without all the nonsense of the capital?

This week in the book, Haven's life interrupts with her job. When Haven goes to work at Little Feet, a woman comes and throws a shoe at her forehead. Haven goes chasing after her and loses her job. Suddenly, Haven notices how much her job meant to her.
This book is in first point of view because Haven uses the word "me". "I sat down on a bench a safe distance away and watched"(Dessen45).

Stolarz, Laurie Faria. Red is for Remembrance. Minnesota: Second Printing, 2005. Print.

So far in the book Stacey who is one of the protagonists has gone off to college where she is trying not flunk out of,deal with losing her boyfriend Jacob, and is trying to decide if she should help Porsha who is having nightmares as well. The story is also told from a guy named Shell's point of view. Shell has lost his memory and is at a camp where things are a lot different from how we go about our everyday life.

When Stacey is the narrator the story is told from the first person point of view. I know this because she uses words such as "I, me, and my.""......using my map, adding only that I should watch my step.."(Stolarz 42). When Shell is the narrator of the story it is told in the third person point of view. I know this because Shell refers to himself as "Shell, him , he , or himself.""He presses his eyes shut......and then he remembers something else from his dream.."(Stolarz 87).

Natalie, is that book any good? I've heard from several people that it's very good. Also, what is 'Little Feet'? Is it a store, or a fast food place, or something?
