The conflict in the story Smack is that girl named Gemma is addicted to heroin. She is trying to quit but is having a hard time, and its going to be easier if her friend Tar might move so she isn't tempted.
Austin D.
Where is juan and how did he get hurt in the wave becouse i'm confused by your details.

Austin,
This sounds like a great book. Where is tar moving to? And why would it be easier to help her quit? I like this book because I have had many issues with drugs with people, and heroine is the hardest drug to quit once it is abused.

The main conflict is an external conflict between two Shadowhunters or demon hunters, Clary and Jace, against her father Valentine. Valentine wants to destroy all Shadowhunters and recreate them in his own image. Valentine even says to them about how he thought he was right when he said, "I don`t enjoy causing the deaths of Shadowhunters . . . I did what I did because I had to." There are also some smaller conflicts that could decide the outcome of the main conflict.

The conflict in the book so far is that Sketter wants Aibileen to tell her were Consatine is. Sketter also wants to know if Aibleen will help her write a book called The Help. Miss. Leefolt is elling at her daughther Mae Mobley for useing Aibleen's bathroom and Miss. Leefolt started to hit Mae Moe because she used the wrong bathroom. Minny is still waiting for Mr. Jhonny to leave the house so she can leave the bathroom.

Your story to me sounds similar to Romeo and Juliet. The father of the girl wants to destroy the apposing people. In Romeo and Juliet both fathers hate each other and want to see the other destroyed. Though I do not know that if in your book if the two kids are in love.
Jaime G
Helen,
I can see how you would think that and Jace and Clary do love each other but Valentine, being evil, tricked them into thinking they were brother and sister. Also Billy who is Juan and how is being hurt in a wave a conflict? What would make that a conflict?

Voigt, Cynthia. Dicey’s Song. New York. The Ballantine Publishing Group. 1982. Print.
In the last chapter I read there was an external conflict between Dicey, Mr. Chappelle, and Mina. Dicey was about to get in trouble because her report about a important person in her life sounded too much like a part from a book to Mr. Chappelle. This was till Mina stood up for Dicey. It say’s in the book “Now I can’t say what book this came out of - if it came out of a book. I can’t even say for sure it did come out of a book. Maybe somebody else helped Dicey write it” ( Voigt 121). I think this was a minor conflict because even though it was expressed throughout the book that Mina wanted to be friends with Dicey it’s not the major problem in the book.

This book, I just got the other day. But so far everyday I read it, I can't seem to put it down. In this one, there are two boys. One twelve year old named Prosper and a five year old named Bo. They are brothers and they ran away, to Venice. There mother had passed away, and she had told them all the magical, and mythical things that go on in Venice, that's what they chose Venice to run away from. You may be wondering why they ran away. Well, there aunt, wanted to adopt Bo, and not Prosper. And Prosper wouldn't allow it. So, they ran away from there grandfathers, where they were staying at that moment. Since then, they have been staying with a few kids, that have been helping them.
One of the conflicts in this story is that, Prosper and Bo's, Aunt and Uncle, have hired a private detective. Even though he seems very lost in the world. As in, he's only been hired to find lost dogs, and stolen goods. He uses fake mustaches and wigs to disguise himself. And this man is hired to find Bo and Prosper. Which they all go running around Venice, trying to hide and find the children. I do not think this is a main conflict at the moment. But I do think this is an external conflict, because there are more than one person involved. "So Mr. Getz, will you take the case?"

Your character Valentine, reminds me of my character, Mr. Getz, because they are both out for someone, or something.

The conflict in my book so far is Beav,Jonesy,Pete and Henry have all experienced strange things going on. Back at the cabin, Rick McCarthy is doing some strange things, like doing these horrible belches and farts that smell like a monkey died inside of him. Beav and Jonesy also have to break down the bathroom door to check on Rick and there is blood on the floor. Meanwhile, Pete and Henry go through the same thing, except it's with a woman. My proof of this is: "Instead of vomit that came out of McCarthy was a long low buzz....." (King 88).

Collins, Suzanne. The Hunger Games. Scholastic, 2008. Print
In the book The Hunger Games, the main conflict so far is that Katness (the main character) has to partake in the hunger games for her sister. The games are a way to keep all of the twelve districts in line. Katness's district is sending her and a boy there. The problem is that she thinks that she will lose to this boy that is heftier then her. She states that, “... Medium height, stocky build, ashy blond hair that falls in waves over his forehead... Yet he climbs onto the stage and takes his place“ (Collins 25-26). She fells that she will not survive. This is a character vs society conflict that Katness is going through.

Because my story is said in the perspectives of Number Four and Number seven this story has two conflicts. The conflict for Number four is he's on the run from the law because in the first book the Mogadorians destroy a school, and now the police think number four
did all of it. when they made it to Florida number four had a 500,000 dollar bounty on his head. Number seven's conflict is that she lives in an orphanage and hates every day there. Where I am in the book Number seven thinks that the Mogadorians have found her.

This book is about how Diana and Georgie are in an argument because Diana is breaking the rules for letting Lissa, the caretakers daughter see her. And there not allowed to have friends but Diana made friends with Lissa. This is a major conflict because the ruless were broken and Georgie doest want to break them because bad things could happen. It's an external conflict because Georgie is arguing with Diana about letting Lissa be frends with her.

Dessen, Sarah. Just Listen. New York: Speak, 2006. Print.
In the book,“Just Listen”, there is a girl named Annabel who has almost everything that she wants. She models for a modeling company and has almost the greatest life. But soon she realizes that she’s loosing part of it. When she goes back to school she notices that she’s changed and lost her best friends during the summer. At home her mother isn’t feeling as she used to before because of the death of her mother. “…which was why the change in her in the weeks following my grandmother’s funeral was so strange. She just got… quieter. Still” (Dessen31). I think this would be a minor conflict because there are many different kinds of problems used in the story. This is an external conflict because Annabel and other characters are involved in most of the minor conflicts.

The conflict in the story is that Brendan and Gary really want revenage on their the jocks. They have a big plan but they dont know how to prosede with it because they have been trying to buy a gun. Plus they have been playing with their neighbors guns because he is in a guns club. So the clonflick in the story so far is that Brendan and Gary want to get revenage on the jocks.

Right now the rebellion is on their way to the capitol to kill president Snow. There have been several deaths along the way. And Peta trys to kill Katniss. "Peta looks down at me, gone, mad, flashing back into the land of the hijacked, his gun raised over me descending to crush my skull."(Collins 279).

They are called burrow owls. These animals are about 6 inches tall and live underground."We will do what ever it takes to stop them."(Hiaasen 123)

Collins, Suzanne. Mockingjay. Scholastic Inc. New York. 2010. Print.
This book is so far about how Katniss is in District 13 after 12 was destroyed in a fire bombing. Katniss was pulled out of the Quarter Quell along with several other victors, but no Peeta. She becomes 'The Mockingjay' to save Peeta and several others from a terrible fate.
A conflict in the story is that Peeta is taken by the Capitol. The president is using Peeta as a way to get to Katniss, and to also turn his memories of her completely the opposite of what they really are. To me this is only a minor conflict in the story. It's also an external conflict, because it's really the rebels versus the Capitol!
